Kahtina Robe Offering Ceremony – 2020

This year Kahtina Robe offering ceremony will be held by Venerable U Sanda and at least five other invited members of the Sangha at the temple on November 8, 2020. Before going to the temple, please kindly phone Venerable U Sanda at 604-951-9054. Waso Robe Offering

As you know, due to exceptional circumstances surrounding the COVID-19, we would not do a mass celebration of Waso Robe offering ceremony this year. As a result, you and your loved ones may lose an opportunity to donate Waso Robes to the Sangha in person. Therefore, MTBS board of directors suggests, not to miss such opportunity (kuso), you and your loved ones do cash donate for the Waso Robe offering either by e-transfer or by cheque if you wish.

For the e-transfer, our email address for the donation is mtbs.surrey@gmail.com. Mailing address for the  cheque donation is MTBS, 13260 108 Ave Surrey, British Columbia V3T 2J6.

However, if you would like to donate in person at the temple, please call Venerable U Sanda at 604-951-9054 before going to the temple. When you are at the temple, please comply with both BC and Canada health officials’ guidelines that include social/physical distancing requirements, etc.

Thank you kindly.

With Metta (loving kindness)

Kind donation request for renovation

You may recall about the renovation at our temple that included kitchen area, wall cabinets and sinks upstairs and downstairs. It started last year and has been completed recently.  We have also incurred some additional costs for the works that include installing LED lights throughout the temple. Therefore, the total cost becomes C$55,812.51. The detailed expenditures and/or invoices are available upon request. In addition, they will be posted on the notice board at the temple as well as they will be given to Venerable U Sanda.

As our temple is the well-wishers’ funded Buddhist society, we need your kind generosity and donation. You may, therefore, donate any amount by e-transfer, cheque or cash if you wish.

If you would like to donate by e-transfer, our email address for the donation is mtbs.surrey@gmail.com.

If you would like to donate by cheque or cash, you should come to the temple and pass your donation to Venerable U Sanda. However, before you come to the temple, please make a phone call to him at 604-951-9054. If he can’t answer the phone call, please kindly leave a message that you are coming. Venerable U Sanda may give you a package of Burmese boiled beans that he makes himself for the well-wishers.

Or, you may mail a cheque donation to MTBS, 13260 108 Ave Surrey, British Columbia V3T 2J6.

We will email you a donation receipt for your donation amount for income tax purposes. Therefore, you need to give us your email address for any method of the donation.

Thank you kindly.

May you be strong and safe!
